Fresh Wind for the ComputerWith the SilentStorm Icewind, fresh wind captures the popular power supply series from Sharkoon. No longer in subtle black but now breezed with a touch of snow white and ice blue, bringing perennial gaming power to demanding computers. Naturally, the textile braided cable also fits perfectly into the color scheme.
Tidy Thanks to Modular Cables and Cable CombsThe cables can be secured with practical cable combs and are kept intentionally modular (except for the firmly soldered 24-pin mainboard cable and 4+4-pin CPU cable). This ensures that only the immediately needed cables are used. The case remains a tidy eye-catcher and fresh air is optimally circulated via an effective 135 mm fan. In addition to the firmly soldered cables, a cable with three 4-pin IDE connectors as well as three cables each with three SATA connectors are included. Also, two PCIe cables, each with a 6+2-pin connector, are provided with the 550 Watt version. The 650 and 750 Watt versions are supplied with two PCIe cables, each possessing two 6+2-pin connectors. The unused cables can be easily stored in the included cable bag.

Increased Voltage Stability via DC-to-DC TechnologyWith AC/DC power supplies, the individual rail voltages are generated in one step from the main voltage. As a result, all voltages during load changes are interdependent. DC-to-DC technology puts more emphasis on 12 V rails, which is why only a 12 V voltage is generated from the main voltage. All other voltages are then derived from this 12 V voltage. As a result, the SilentStorm Icewind benefits from increased voltage stability since the other voltages are not affected by load changes of the 12 V rail.
High Efficiency, High ProtectionAs usual for the SilentStorm series, the SilentStorm Icewind meets the requirements of the 80 PLUS Initiative “PLUG LOAD SOLUTIONS” with an efficiency of over 85% by 50% load and is certified “80 PLUS Bronze” for effective energy efficiency. The power supply is also certified according to current environmental standards and guarantees safety thanks to over power, over voltage, under voltage, short circuit, over current and over temperature protections. The warranty period is three years.
